A Canonical Case Study
Lucid Software, a provider of visual collaboration tools, needed to achieve FedRAMP compliance to provide its services to US government agencies, a requirement that included using FIPS 140-2 certified cryptographic modules. As a long-time user of Ubuntu on AWS, their challenge was to meet this strict compliance without causing major disruption to their established developer environment and operations.
Canonical provided the solution with Ubuntu Pro FIPS on AWS, a pre-certified image that delivered the required packages out of the box. This allowed Lucid to deploy the necessary compliant systems in under two weeks, achieving full FedRAMP certification for their product portfolio within six months. As a result, Canonical's solution unlocked an entirely new federal government market for Lucid with minimal operational disruption and provided them with ongoing enterprise support and security updates.
