Fortum Recycling & Waste, a multinational company in the waste management industry operating across Sweden, Finland, and Denmark, faced significant challenges in its EHSQ (Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality) management. The company was using three different, disconnected systems for its operations in each country, which made it difficult to get a unified operational overview, centrally manage company directives, and efficiently oversee incidents. To address this, they turned to vendor CANEA and its product, CANEA ONE.

CANEA ONE provided a single, unified system that digitized all workflows and documentation. The solution successfully addressed Fortum’s core challenges by offering a central hub for information, enabling the presentation of data in each employee's preferred language and area of responsibility. This allowed for efficient administration of company-wide directives and provided a clear overview of incidents across all countries to facilitate organizational learning. As a result, CANEA ONE has enabled Fortum to incorporate newly acquired companies into the system and is planning further implementation for more structured process management.
