Sony DADC New Media Solutions, which builds global digital supply-chain systems for the music industry, needed greater flexibility and visibility than their legacy Oracle PL/SQL workflow engine could provide. To give business analysts and operations clearer insight into running processes and to meet customer-specific, high-concurrency requirements, Sony DADC chose the Camunda BPM platform.

Camunda delivered a BPMN-based solution with strong Java/Spring integration and on-site consulting to model and implement processes within a six-month timeline. Using Camunda, Sony DADC now fully automates content registration, order processing and delivery, handling hundreds of thousands of digital orders per day (several hundred TB per month) and thousands of process instances daily, while improving operational transparency and cross-team communication.
