A Camunda Case Study
R-KOM, the regional telecommunications provider for eastern Bavaria, struggled with a self-built process engine that limited process modeling, documentation, and collaboration between business and IT. To address these gaps the company adopted Camunda’s orchestration technology—initially Camunda Platform (Camunda 7) and later migrated to Camunda 8 (cloud), plus Optimize and Zeebe—to modernize process automation and future-proof its orchestration stack.
Camunda enabled a phased, low-risk migration (starting with non-critical processes) and a seamless cutover to Camunda 8’s cloud service and Zeebe engine, with a facade API minimizing changes to surrounding systems. As a result R-KOM gained clearer process visibility, stronger business–IT alignment, faster time-to-market, reduced maintenance overhead, improved operational efficiency and customer experience, and accelerated time-to-value—demonstrating measurable improvements in agility and stability driven by Camunda.
