Case Study: Mauritius Commercial Bank achieves modernized enterprise architecture and streamlined data migration with Camunda

A Camunda Case Study

Preview of the Mauritius Commercial Bank Case Study

Mauritius Commercial Bank, founded in 1838, is the oldest and largest banking institution of Mauritius

Mauritius Commercial Bank, the oldest and largest banking institution in Mauritius, faced the challenge of replacing a legacy process platform and evolving its enterprise architecture to support a growing digital footprint and cross‑border banking operations. To address adoption and implementation hurdles — including custom user interfaces, data migration between systems, and resource optimization in a microservice landscape — the bank migrated to Camunda Platform from vendor Camunda.

Using Camunda, Mauritius Commercial Bank implemented orchestrated workflows, a custom Angular UI for user tasks, and a dedicated process to migrate data between systems, enabling better coordination across microservices and more efficient resource use. The Camunda-based solution modernized the bank’s IT architecture, supported smoother data migration and operational scalability, and delivered long‑term benefits in agility and maintainability.
