Vandebron, the Dutch green energy marketplace connecting consumers directly with local producers, struggled with customer onboarding and data management due to a heavily customized Salesforce workflow (over 55,000 lines of code), limited automation capacity, centralized ownership, and resulting organizational bottlenecks. To overcome these constraints, Vandebron turned to Camunda and the Camunda Platform to gain a more flexible, scalable process automation approach.

Camunda replaced the black‑box Salesforce workflows with distributed process orchestration, enabling decentralized ownership via a center of excellence, simpler BPMN-based modeling, and better collaboration between developers and business stakeholders. Early results from Camunda include faster onboarding and maintenance, improved visibility and control of customer-update processes, and the ability to handle larger transaction volumes without delays, with Vandebron and partner Incentro continuing to migrate more processes to scale automation further.
