A Camunda Case Study
Münchener Hypothekenbank eG, an independent real estate bank, faced limits with a monolithic process engine that forced workarounds, increased complexity and errors, and prevented independent maintenance of core processes like incoming mail handling, outgoing mail release and cross-department loan processing. To modernize orchestration and task management they partnered with Camunda in 2019, adopting Camunda Platform along with Camunda Tasklist and Optimize to coordinate and automate these manual and system-spanning processes.
Working with Camunda the bank moved to a Java-based microservice architecture and implemented a company-wide task list with tailored React UIs, removing makeshift constructs (for example resubmission workarounds) and enabling independent deployment of process entities. Camunda’s APIs and out-of-the-box functions sped rollout and integration, yielding faster processing, significantly reduced lead times for end customers, greater operational agility and efficiency, and a much improved staff experience—so much so that internal teams are expanding development resources to roll the solution out further.
