A Camunda Case Study
Fidelity Investments, a large financial services firm with $8.6 trillion in assets under administration, faced the challenge of converting over 30 business units from a legacy workflow application to a modern BPM/process automation approach. Business process owners were used to legacy limitations and needed to be educated to design processes that take advantage of BPM. To address this, Fidelity turned to Camunda and its process automation platform as the target technology for migration and business adoption.
Camunda supported Fidelity by framing both the organizational change (getting non‑technical business teams to “think BPM”) and the migration mechanics, offering guidance on estimating scope and timelines, building a migration business case, designing a migration “factory,” and defining enterprise governance and service models. Using Camunda’s approach, Fidelity produced concrete outputs — scoped timelines, a repeatable migration execution model, and governance standards — that reduced migration risk, clarified responsibilities, and set the firm on a clear path to realize the benefits of modern process automation.
