Clearstream Orchestrating D7 Digital Securities Services supported by Camunda

Clearstream, the global post-trade services provider for Deutsche Börse Group, needed to scale its D7 digital securities platform beyond the limits of its first-generation monolithic architecture. As issuance volumes grew in the German market, the company lacked end-to-end process visibility and needed a more flexible way to support highly regulated digital securities issuance and redemption processes.

To address this, Clearstream chose Camunda 8 as the central business process orchestrator for its microservices-based D7 Generation2 platform, built with Google Cloud services. With Camunda, Clearstream improved scalability, transparency, and agility, enabling up to 40,000 issuances per day, reducing processing time in Camunda to under one second, and supporting more than 1.8 million digital issuances since launch, representing roughly 20 billion EUR in value.
