NORD/LB, a major publicly owned wholesale bank, wanted a centralized, compliant way to orchestrate AI-augmented processes across the enterprise. To support this effort, the bank worked with Camunda and its agentic orchestration capabilities to modernize workflow automation, integrate AI with existing systems, and evaluate where AI could add value in operational processes.

Camunda helped NORD/LB automate and orchestrate a physical mail-handling workflow using IDP, business rules, and an LLM-connected agent. The solution now fully automates about 75% of incoming mail, while Camunda’s agentic orchestration helps review and route the remaining 25% of exceptions that require manual knowledge work, reducing errors and improving service quality.
