A CampusESP Case Study
The University of Montana faced a challenge with student email fatigue, as enrolled students were bombarded with urgent but disconnected communications from numerous departments across campus. This made it difficult for important information to stand out, leading students to ignore messages. To create a more personalized and intentional communication experience, the university turned to its existing vendor, CampusESP, to implement a student-focused solution.
CampusESP implemented a centralized student communication platform called The Sentinel. The solution utilized onboarding surveys, segmented communities, automated newsletters, and text messaging to personalize the flow of information. As a result, over 6,500 students actively engaged with the platform within six months, generating over 6,000 clicks on content. Students reported trusting The Sentinel as a go-to source for accurate information, and engagement was highest around critical success topics like course registration, proving essential information was now effectively reaching students.
