Case Study: Montclair State University strengthens family engagement with CampusESP

Montclair State University engages 71 families with CampusESP's bilingual orientation

Montclair State University, a Hispanic-Serving Institution, faced the challenge of engaging its many first-generation and Hispanic/Latinx families who felt disconnected and were missing key information during English-only orientation events. To address this, they partnered with CampusESP to help create a more inclusive and welcoming experience.

Using CampusESP and other tools, the university implemented a fully bilingual and culturally relevant orientation program. This solution included identifying Spanish-speaking households for targeted communication and redesigning materials and events for authenticity. The pilot event was a major success, attracting over 70 family members who engaged deeply and left feeling informed and empowered, with many requesting additional sessions.
