Leading Global Insurance Organization, a leading Canadian branch of a global insurer, needed a more effective and efficient way to detect insurance fraud. While it already used SAS tools, its Social Network Analysis module was limited by inflexible interfaces, difficult “what if?” analysis, and weak filtering, making it harder for fraud analysts to uncover suspicious patterns. Cambridge Intelligence’s KeyLines link analysis toolkit was brought in to address these issues.

Cambridge Intelligence helped the organization build a web-based, interactive fraud visualization application on top of its existing SAS data warehouse and entity profiling system. Using KeyLines, the team added customized link analysis, visual querying, filtering, node manipulation, and automatic layouts, all within a secure browser-based experience. The solution was delivered in under two months and improved investigators’ ability to explore data without relying on specialized database queries or training.
