Case Study: Z-Net achieves 450 Mbps backhaul and doubles customer capacity with Cambium Networks PTP 650

A Cambium Networks Case Study

Z-Net deployed wireless backhaul for high capacity infrastructure

Z-Net is a fixed wireless ISP based in Keszthely, Hungary, serving more than 10,000 residential and business customers with internet, VoIP, HD-TV and video surveillance. As customer demand grew, their original MikroTik backhaul maxed out at about 80 Mbps and constrained each backhaul link to roughly 150 subscribers, so Z-Net needed a higher-throughput, rapidly deployable backhaul solution.

Z-Net deployed the Cambium Networks PTP 650 backhaul (designed with Cambium’s LINKPlanner) to deliver roughly 433–450 Mbps on a 35 km/21 mile link. The Cambium Networks solution doubled effective capacity per link—supporting about 250 customers downstream instead of 150—allowed Z-Net to offer more services, increase revenue per customer and expand coverage while providing consistent, reliable performance.
