A Cambium Networks Case Study
Wyoming.com, an ISP founded in 1994 serving roughly 5,500 mostly residential subscribers across southern Wyoming, was facing customer frustration from video buffering, poor performance with simultaneous connections, and higher churn while competing with costly satellite and fiber options. To address these issues, Wyoming.com selected Cambium Networks’ QoE solution to improve streaming quality and better manage in-home bandwidth usage.
Cambium Networks implemented its QoE appliance—featuring TCP optimization, granular application shaping, dynamic queue-based rate limiting and automatic congestion management—deployed and provisioned in about 1.5 weeks and ultimately placed in the network core. As a result, about 80–90% of customers (~4,000) now use the appliance, video streaming loads nearly instantly, buffering-related calls dropped from roughly 5–8 per week to virtually none, and the system even helped identify and mitigate a Brazil-originating DDoS; Wyoming.com continues to expand core shaping and automated reporting with Cambium Networks’ solution.
