ezWireless, a Portland-based systems integrator supporting the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP), needed reliable, high-speed wireless video and data connectivity for a large-scale HAZMAT decontamination drill in a challenging non-line-of-sight, mission-critical environment. To meet that need, ezWireless deployed the Cambium Networks 4.9 GHz Point-to-Multipoint solution (PMP 49400) for the field test.

ezWireless installed a Cambium Networks access point on a nearby tower and a 4.9 GHz subscriber module on a “Broadband Incident Response” trailer, enabling live, real-time streaming and simultaneous upstream/downstream video transfer. The Cambium Networks system automatically detected and connected devices, recovered instantly after power cycling, and delivered continuous streaming video for the entire day with no issues—results that convinced ezWireless to consider the solution for regular CSEPP and other public-safety applications.
