Gruppo Maggioli, acting as the technology integrator for a 10‑year project across 53 municipalities around Cremona, needed to deploy 62 electronic ANPR gates to support traffic enforcement. The challenge was to build a secure, private HiperLan data network that could handle peaks of up to 500,000 vehicle reads per day and provide reliable near‑Line‑of‑Sight and Non‑Line‑of‑Sight connectivity through flat terrain, heavy foliage and interference. To meet these needs they selected Cambium Networks (ePMP Force 180/200, PTP 670, LINKPlanner and cnMaestro).

Cambium Networks supplied 146 ePMP Force 180/200 modules and 10 PTP 670 units, using LINKPlanner for design and cnMaestro for zero‑touch provisioning and centralized management. The solution delivers real‑time ANPR data transfer — under two seconds from read to command center — and makes results available to local and national police via desktops and mobile devices, providing measurable improvements in latency (<2 s), wide‑area nLOS performance and scalable, secure network management. Cambium Networks’ equipment and tools enabled the project’s required capacity, security and operational simplicity.
