Wi-Fi is an “Invisible Foundation for Learning” at Morehouse College

Morehouse College needed a reliable, secure campuswide Wi‑Fi foundation to support students, faculty and staff who bring multiple devices and depend on cloud applications. With old Wi‑Fi struggling—especially in thick‑walled buildings—the college selected Cambium Networks’ Xirrus Wi‑Fi solution, including Xirrus APs and XMS‑Cloud management, funded in part by an anonymous donor.

Cambium Networks deployed Xirrus access points, XMS‑Cloud, Xirrus Application Control and Rapid Deployment Kits to deliver abundant throughput, broad coverage and easy cloud management. The new network supports more than 3,000 users, enabled a module upgrade that tripled speeds under 802.11ac Wave 2 (avoiding full AP replacements), lets IT throttle Netflix to preserve academic bandwidth, and can quickly scale for events of up to 15,000 attendees—delivering measurable performance and cost savings.
