Tire Rack Accelerates Operations with Xirrus Wi-Fi Access Points

Tire Rack, America’s largest independent tire tester and consumer‑direct source, needed to solve critical bandwidth and coverage challenges for its marketing team and new multi‑story annex — supporting more than 150 concurrent users, seamless roaming across several hundred thousand square feet, and the transfer of multihundred‑megabyte media files. To meet those demands, Tire Rack selected Xirrus Wi‑Fi access points from Cambium Networks.

Cambium Networks deployed XR‑4430 Xirrus APs and the Xirrus Management System (XMS), providing multi‑radio, directional coverage that delivers up to twice the coverage and bandwidth/user density of legacy thin APs while reducing device count, cabling and power needs. The system was quick to install (each AP configured in ~15 minutes), secured with rogue detection and client‑location features, and enabled measurable benefits: higher marketing productivity, reliable large‑file collaboration, hundreds of employees fully Wi‑Fi enabled, and new capabilities like wireless test‑track data capture and in‑car video streaming.
