A Cambium Networks Case Study
The Village of Standard, Alberta, faced years of inconsistent, slow internet—residents on the edges often saw as little as 6 Mbps down and repairs could take weeks. Unable to afford or wait for fiber, the Village partnered with ISP Connect Mobility to deploy Cambium Networks’ 60 GHz cnWave distributed broadband mesh to deliver fiber-like wireless connectivity across the community.
Connect Mobility, using Cambium Networks’ cnWave (V5000 distribution nodes and V3000/V1000 client nodes) plus ePMP 3000 for outlying farms and an e700 hotspot for the campground, built a resilient mesh and wide‑area fixed‑wireless solution. The team completed 38 site turn-ups in just 21 days, installing 35 V5000 DNs (with additional V3000s for redundancy), and now offers residents up to 1 Gbps download speeds (with businesses reporting ~150 Mbps), delivering fiber-equivalent performance at a fraction of the time and cost—supported by Cambium Networks’ design tools, training, and distributor assistance.
