Textra Transforms Indian Port and Construction Roads With Wireless Connectivity

Textra Solutions, a wireless-solutions provider in India, was asked to connect facilities at the strategic port of Visakhapatnam and nearby construction roads where trenching for fiber was impossible due to dusty, harsh conditions and heavy truck traffic. The port required reliable wireless coverage across an 11‑kilometer area to enable IIoT RFID at entry/exit gates, provide outdoor Wi‑Fi on berths, and connect CCTV — so Textra selected Cambium Networks’ ePMP wireless broadband radios and cnPilot Outdoor Wi‑Fi Hotspots to meet those needs.

Textra implemented a Cambium Networks solution modeled with LINKPlanner and managed via cnMaestro, deploying 54 devices (including 3 ePMP 1000 GPS‑sync APs, 24 ePMP Force 200 SMs, 4 ePMP Force 110 SMs, 4 PTP backhaul links and 19 cnPilot hotspots) to deliver private WAN, backhaul, Wi‑Fi and CCTV across an 11‑km radius. The site survey, planning, deployment and training were completed in one week; RFID, berth Wi‑Fi and CCTV were enabled, and the port standardized Cambium Networks’ wireless products as both primary and failover communications — ensuring reliable operations and keeping cargo moving.
