Telemar provides wireless broadband to business and residential customers in Italy

Telemar, a broadband provider serving rural communities in the Vincenza province of Italy, faced growing demand that its legacy Alvarion network could no longer support and found low-cost Mikrotik replacements unreliable. Needing high reliability, low-latency VoIP/video performance, per-user provisioning and strong interference tolerance, Telemar selected Cambium Networks’ PMP 450 wireless access network to upgrade and scale their existing infrastructure.

Cambium Networks deployed the PMP 450 (features include up to 125 Mbps per AP, GPS synchronization and 3–5 ms latency), initially rolling out 40 access points and 1,000 subscriber modules. The solution delivered higher speeds, clearer VoIP/video, better frequency reuse and bandwidth efficiency, increased customer satisfaction and a compelling ROI, enabling Telemar to expand the PMP 450 deployment across its coverage area.
