Telcroft Technologies deploys managed solarpowered Wi-Fi network for 28,000 students at Delta State University, Abraka

Telcroft Technologies was engaged to provide campus‑wide connectivity for Delta State University, Abraka, where unreliable power and no local ISP left 28,000 students dependent on inadequate 3G service. To deliver an affordable, scalable and centrally managed solution, Telcroft partnered with Cambium Networks and specified Cambium’s portfolio — including ePMP 3000 fixed wireless, Force subscriber modules, e501s/e410 Wi‑Fi 5 access points and cnMaestro management — and designed solar‑powered base stations to overcome power constraints.

Using Cambium Networks’ equipment and cnMaestro, Telcroft deployed 12 ePMP 3000 base stations, multiple Force subscriber modules, 73 e501s and 37 e410 APs, and cnMatrix switches; the solar‑powered network went live in 28 days. The Cambium‑based solution reduced total cost of ownership by 50%, delivers ~465 Mbps today (3 STM1) with a planned upgrade to 622 Mbps (4 STM1), is managed 24/7 under a 15‑year agreement, serves 28,000 students and supported a 70% increase in hostel residency over two years.
