A Cambium Networks Case Study
Taylor Broadband, serving rural and farming communities in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, needed to upgrade its aging PMP 100 Canopy system as subscriber growth outstripped capacity. With many remote, solar-powered sites and a strict 16 W / 12 V power limit, they required a higher‑throughput solution that could support more than 30 active subscribers per access point across 500 m–3 km. They chose Cambium Networks’ ePMP solution (ePMP Force 200 AP and SM) to meet those performance and power constraints.
Cambium Networks deployed ePMP Force 200 APs and Subscriber Modules with GPS synchronization and compatibility with existing PMP 100 power supplies, enabling a three‑day swap without needing customers at home. The upgrade delivered measurable gains: the busiest ePMP AP now serves 33 simultaneous active subscribers, customers report improved throughput on speed tests, bulky reflector dishes were removed, and total network throughput increased while lowering power consumption — results Taylor Broadband attributes to Cambium Networks and will roll out to more sites.
