South Waikato District Council - Customer Case Study

South Waikato District Council needed a reliable, cost‑effective wireless backhaul to support street CCTV for public safety and open public Wi‑Fi in Tokoroa’s central business district. Working with ISP Wireless Nation, the Council chose Cambium Networks solutions — using LINKPlanner for design, ePMP Force 180 point‑to‑point radios, cnPilot e500 access points and the cnMaestro controller — to deliver enough bandwidth for multiple HD cameras and many simultaneous Wi‑Fi users on a limited budget.

Cambium Networks implemented an end‑to‑end solution: LINKPlanner designed the links, five PTP backhaul links were deployed with ePMP Force 180s, Wi‑Fi was delivered via cnPilot e500 APs, and cnMaestro provided centralized onboarding and monitoring. The result was a reliable, low‑maintenance network delivered within budget that has transmitted CCTV evidence used to solve crimes, visibly reduced crime, and increased visitor attractiveness through public Wi‑Fi — outcomes that have prompted interest in expanding the Cambium Networks deployment.
