Case Study: Rapier Systems achieves 50 Mbps connectivity for 50 remote Drimnin properties with Cambium Networks cnPilot and cnMaestro

A Cambium Networks Case Study

Preview of the Rapier Systems Case Study

Rapier Systems Reaches a Rural Estate with cnPilot™

Rapier Systems was tasked with delivering reliable broadband to the remote Drimnin estate near Oban — a community of about 50 homes, holiday rentals and small businesses reachable only by single-track road or ferry, with prior average speeds around 0.5 Mbps and physical obstacles like rugged terrain and thick stone walls. To meet this challenge, Rapier Systems chose Cambium Networks solutions, deploying cnPilot R201P 802.11ac access points and the cnMaestro cloud controller for scalable, remotely manageable Wi‑Fi distribution.

Using Cambium Networks’ cnPilot and cnMaestro, Rapier Systems built a fixed wireless access network with licensed microwave links and indoor APs, connecting all 50 properties in about one month. The Cambium Networks deployment raised speeds from ~0.5 Mbps to up to 50 Mbps, enabled end-to-end remote monitoring and rapid fault resolution, and eliminated many costly site visits while future‑proofing the community’s connectivity.
