Case Study: Queen’s College achieves campus-wide reliable Wi‑Fi for online learning and eduroam with Cambium Networks

Queen’s College Lives and Breathes Cambium Wi-Fi

Queen’s College, a residential college affiliated with the University of Melbourne, needed a minimally invasive, secure Wi‑Fi solution that could integrate with eduroam and reliably serve 340 students and 40 staff across heritage‑listed buildings. Cymax Pty Ltd recommended and helped deploy Cambium Networks’ Xirrus Wi‑Fi access points (and cloud management via XMS/XCS) to meet those coverage and security requirements.

Cymax repaired cabling, upgraded switching and installed Cambium Networks’ Xirrus APs over the academic break so the network was operational on students’ return. The result: all buildings now receive campus‑wide Wi‑Fi, reliable performance during peak periods, support for online lectures, Office 365 and cloud storage, and students completed COVID‑era exams without issue; staff also use Cambium’s XCS analytics to monitor usage and manage capacity.
