A Cambium Networks Case Study
PrimoWireless, a wireless ISP serving homes, farms and businesses in Taranaki, New Zealand, was struggling with drop‑offs and dead spots along the main city street due to a noisy RF environment and limited‑range access points from their previous supplier. Facing the choice of buying eight more APs from the same vendor or upgrading, PrimoWireless chose Cambium Networks and its cnPilot™ e500 enterprise outdoor APs to address inconsistent customer experiences and roaming issues.
PrimoWireless deployed 13 Cambium Networks cnPilot e500 outdoor APs, mapping coverage and strategically placing two new units while replacing older APs; GoWireless/Streakwave NZ supported supply and advice. The Cambium Networks solution increased per‑AP coverage and noise filtering, reduced dead spots and roaming complaints, saved an estimated $7,000–$10,000 in equipment and labor, and grew average daily users from about 1,000 to 1,300 with users spending more time connected.
