Case Study: ORION Telekom achieves reliable, scalable triple‑play services with Cambium Networks ePMP

A Cambium Networks Case Study

Preview of the ORION Telekom Case Study

Providing Reliable Triple-Play Services over Wireless

ORION Telekom, the second-largest operator and leading alternative fixed-line provider in Serbia with more than 100,000 residential broadband subscribers, needed a way to roll out consistent, marketable triple-play packages (TV, Internet, phone) nationwide without the time and cost of a wired/fiber buildout. To meet strict reliability and scalability requirements, ORION selected Cambium Networks’ ePMP wireless access solution (ePMP™ 1000 platform) to deliver carrier-grade wireless connectivity that could support IPTV and growing subscriber throughput.

Cambium Networks deployed the ePMP system with GPS synchronization, multi-level QoS and high-throughput capacity (up to 220 Mbps, ~120 subscribers per AP), and its engineers assisted with design, integration and optimization. The solution let ORION connect thousands of customers in months, install more than 100 base stations (230+ AP sectors) in 12 Serbian cities and 50 base stations (75 AP sectors) in Montenegro, launch IPTV/triple-play (with Quad-Play plans forthcoming), and drive measurable business gains — ARPU rose to €20 per user per month while churn fell and customer retention improved.
