Case Study: CEMER SC connects 800,000+ Guanajuato residents and halves CAPEX with Cambium Networks' PMP 450i and cnPilot

A Cambium Networks Case Study

Promoting Digital Inclusion in Guanajuato

CEMER SC faced widespread digital exclusion in Guanajuato and needed to interconnect rural elementary schools and provide public internet to hard-to-reach communities. The project required at least double the bandwidth of their previous solution, reliable LOS/nLOS performance up to 20 km, and strong manufacturer support. To meet these needs they partnered with Cambium Networks, selecting the PMP 450i wireless wide area distribution product family (with cnPilot e500 Outdoor Wi‑Fi access points and cnMaestro management) as their platform.

Cambium Networks deployed six PMP 450i radio bases at strategic sites (average one-day implementation per site) and added cnPilot e500 APs, managed via cnMaestro, to deliver public and school connectivity. The solution connected 15 municipalities and more than 800,000 residents, produced higher bandwidth, lower latency and greater availability, and enabled a 50% reduction in capital expense and a 20% reduction in operating expense; it also supports solar power and simplified network management, allowing CEMER SC to plan statewide expansion.
