Ponto Telecom Brings Public Wi-Fi to Brazil’s Jockey Plaza Shopping Center

Ponto Telecom, an ISP and system integrator, was contracted to deliver public Wi‑Fi for Jockey Plaza Shopping Center in Curitiba, Brazil — a 200,000 m² mall with 400+ stores and heavy device density. The customer needed a cost‑effective, secure solution with a cloud controller, interference management, and 802.11ac Wave 2 MU‑MIMO to minimize onsite support. Ponto Telecom selected Cambium Networks (cnPilot access points and the cnMaestro cloud controller) to meet these requirements.

Ponto Telecom deployed 31 indoor APs (27 cnPilot e410 and 4 cnPilot e400) managed via Cambium Networks’ cnMaestro, using VLAN segmentation and automatic radio/interference tuning. The deployment delivered 100% public indoor coverage, transparent roaming, fewer APs than competitor solutions (reducing project costs), and a measurable reduction in support time thanks to AP stability and cnMaestro templates. Cambium Networks’ solution also positions Ponto Telecom to monetize connections for stores and kiosks.
