Plugue Telecom, a wireless ISP serving Americana in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, faced the challenge of delivering reliable, high‑capacity Wi‑Fi through dense tropical vegetation that blocked line‑of‑sight links. To meet local needs for internet browsing, video surveillance, voice and data streaming, Plugue evaluated solutions and selected Cambium Networks’ PMP 450i 900MHz technology for its non‑LOS performance.

Cambium Networks supported Plugue with technical resources and a test deployment of the PMP 450i at 900MHz, which delivered about 20% more bandwidth than required despite Brazil’s 10MHz channel limit. The live network (two 450i 900MHz APs and 60 subscriber modules) now provides customers with 10–25 Mbps plans, reliable coverage in heavily forested areas, measurable service expansion and higher customer satisfaction, and Plugue plans to continue expanding the Cambium Networks deployment.
