Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 Provides End-to-End Connectivity for Olympic Trials in Oregon

Elevate Technology Group, an Oregon‑based managed service provider, was hired to provide temporary broadband for the McKenzie International Track Meet (a final Olympic qualifying event) in a heavily tree‑covered area that previously only had a 5–10 Mbps DSL connection. To support hundreds of attendees, staff and a livestream—enabling Wi‑Fi calls, FaceTime and video streaming—Elevate deployed Cambium Networks equipment, including 450b units for CBRS backhaul and XV2‑2T outdoor Wi‑Fi 6 access points.

Using Cambium Networks’ 450b units in PTP mode for backhaul and XV2‑2T Wi‑Fi 6 APs to cover the track and grandstands, Elevate delivered an aggregate 220 Mbps connection that supported 157 unique devices among roughly 700 in attendance and enabled thousands of online livestream viewers. The Cambium Networks solution provided reliable, easy‑to‑use Wi‑Fi that allowed attendees to FaceTime and stream video without issues, and the McKenzie Track plans to partner with Elevate again for future events.
