New England Law Boston Deploys Xirrus Wi-Fi Network to Support Mobile Learning

New England Law | Boston, a private law school in Boston’s Theatre District, was struggling with connectivity and throughput as student and faculty mobile device use and online services grew. The existing wireless design suffered from interference (nearby hotels and offices) and physical obstructions in the library, exposing limitations in troubleshooting and capacity. To support mobile learning and online applications, the school engaged Cambium Networks and chose its Xirrus Wi‑Fi solution.

Cambium Networks conducted a site survey, redesigned AP placement to direct signal inward toward classrooms, and deployed XR-2200 and XR-4400 Xirrus access points with the Xirrus Management System (XMS). The new design reduced equipment and costs by up to 30%, supports about 400 concurrent devices (over 1,000 devices per day), enabled streaming and online exams, improved student engagement, and allowed administrators to monitor and manage bandwidth without blocking applications. Cambium Networks’ deployment eliminated single points of failure and scaled to meet the school’s needs.
