MyJEC Broadband Connects Rural Texas with Cambium Fiber and ONE Network

MyJEC Broadband, the communications arm of Jackson Electric Cooperative, serves rural Matagorda County and surrounding Texas communities as a member-owned provider with roughly 2,400 broadband customers and plans to expand to 10,000 homes and businesses. Facing unreliable or unavailable traditional broadband — and the discontinuation of their GPON vendor after an initial deployment of Cambium Networks radios — MyJEC needed a higher-capacity, interoperable fiber solution that wouldn’t disrupt service or require labor-intensive equipment swaps.

MyJEC selected Cambium Networks to deploy GPON Fiber Solutions alongside cnMaestro network management and RV22 Wi‑Fi 6 home mesh routers, enabling seamless interoperability with legacy ONTs and remote provisioning. The Cambium Networks ONE Network approach let MyJEC onboard and manage about 1,500 field ONTs without truck rolls, improved customer bandwidth and Wi‑Fi coverage, streamlined operations under a single pane of glass, and accelerated fiber expansion to support future growth.
