Mount Pleasant Radio Company - Customer Case Study

Mount Pleasant Radio Company was hired by the Coastal Conservation League to replace a failed wireless, solar‑powered camera install monitoring a protected pelican nesting site at Crab Bank. With no wired power or comms available, tight solar power limits and a limited budget, Mount Pleasant Radio Company selected Cambium Networks’ ePMP Force line (Force 180 and Force 200) to meet the technical and financial challenges.

MPR rebuilt the solar system, deployed two IP cameras and linked Crab Bank to the Charleston Pilot’s office using a 5 GHz Force 180 (island) to Force 200 (land) link, delivering efficient 24/7 operation and high throughput (up to 100 Mbps in a 20 MHz channel). Cambium Networks’ ePMP solution provided reliable, low‑power performance that now feeds the Coastal Conservation League’s live pelicam and exhibits at the Charleston Aquarium, and MPR plans to scale the network to additional nesting sites.
