Migrating Sooner Rather than Later with ePMP Elevate

WIRUlink, a licensed voice and data provider based in Johannesburg founded in 2010, was experiencing rapid growth (over 100% year‑on‑year since 2011) and adding roughly 150 subscribers per month while building three towers per month. Their existing 5 GHz equipment was overloaded, causing slow speeds, interference and limited scalability—WIRUlink needed a way to boost network capacity and performance while supporting previously installed customer radios. They evaluated vendors and chose Cambium Networks (ePMP™ portfolio and ePMP Elevate software) to address the challenge.

Cambium Networks supplied ePMP APs and ePMP Elevate software to upgrade WIRUlink’s last‑mile network without replacing existing CPE, and WIRUlink has already migrated 90 APs to Cambium ePMP 2000 Access Points while progressively deploying Force ePMP 180 and Force 200 units. The solution interoperated with other vendors’ radios, enabled background upgrades with minimal downtime, improved user speeds and signal reliability, reduced operating costs by supporting higher subscriber density per radio, and freed capital to expand towers and core infrastructure.
