A Cambium Networks Case Study
Large Internet Service Provider, serving more than 2,000 users in the remote Colombian Amazon, faced repeated vulnerability of its fiber backbone to cuts and extremely noisy sites (up to −70 dBm). Unable to cost-effectively extend fiber through dense rainforest, the provider turned to Cambium Networks, deploying NetPoint NPX 5‑SHP‑4FT antennas and Cambium Force 4600C radios operating in the 6 GHz band as an alternative backup strategy.
Cambium Networks implemented a 50.16‑mile (80.4 km) Point‑to‑Point backhaul link that avoided costly fiber extension and delivered a robust backup with measured RSSI of −51 dBm, low latency, and 100% link availability during tests. The solution improved network resilience, simplified management via Cambium’s ONE Network platform, and created a scalable, high‑performance redundancy option that prevented outages and eliminated the expense and complexity of further fiber deployments.
