KRK Sistemi deploys ePMP to connect business and residential customers in Croatia

KRK Sistemi, led by CEO Krunoslav Ivanović, built Croatia’s first free public WiFi and expanded into 10 towns, municipal broadband and business services, but their low-cost wireless gear began to struggle as demand grew. To restore performance and scale, KRK Sistemi evaluated and tested the ePMP system from Cambium Networks.

Cambium Networks’ ePMP solution—using ePMP access modules and PTP backhaul radios—was deployed as the new access and backhaul platform, with a strategy to swap in higher-capacity PTP links as demand rose. The result was a dramatic improvement in reliability and capacity: a 50 km over-water link now delivers 60 Mbps and the network achieved aggregate throughput gains (notably a 170 Mbps total throughput figure), enabling KRK Sistemi to serve ports, yachts, businesses and municipalities without bottlenecks.
