Khalda Petroleum Company, a large drilling and production operator based in the Maadi district of Cairo with operations across 500 km of the West Desert, needed a modern communications network to support SCADA, IIoT, voice, video and data for more than 3,000 users. Facing limited bandwidth from aging fiber and licensed microwave systems and the high cost of new fiber installs, Khalda selected Cambium Networks to provide a more reliable, higher‑bandwidth alternative using Cambium’s PMP and PTP solutions along with LINKPlanner and cnMaestro.

Cambium Networks’ solution was modeled with LINKPlanner, deployed by local ISP Systle using Cambium PTP backhaul and PMP distribution hardware, and configured and managed via the cnMaestro cloud system; cnPilot and cnReach components were used for edge and industrial IoT needs. The rollout was fast and lower cost than fiber or VHF modem options, delivering an 8× speed increase, simplified administration, reduced maintenance, and the capacity to support Khalda’s IIoT and enterprise voice/video/data requirements.
