IT Service Provider Swiftly Sets Up Temporary Xirrus Wi-Fi Networks for Indoor and Outdoor Concerts, Shows and Conventions

Kite Systems, an outsourced IT provider for Hong Kong events (including parent customer Magnetic Asia and the Central Harbourfront Event Space), faced the challenge of delivering reliable, high‑performance Wi‑Fi for large, high‑density outdoor and indoor events. Their previous solution failed when thousands of devices connected simultaneously, so Kite Systems turned to Cambium Networks’ Xirrus Wi‑Fi and Xirrus Management System (XMS) to meet clients’ expectations for fast, consistent connectivity.

Cambium Networks deployed Xirrus access points (each with up to eight radios), Rapid Deployment Kits and XMS/XMS‑Cloud, allowing quick installs, programmable 2.4/5GHz radio mixes and real‑time management. The result: about 75% fewer access points and far less cabling, support for up to 3,000 concurrent connections at events, detailed per‑AP usage reporting for a 1,500‑attendee meeting, and strengthened Kite Systems’ position as the go‑to temporary Wi‑Fi provider.
