HTSnet Increases Performance by 17% Through Dynamic Channel Selection Capabilities

Hawk Teknologi Solusi (HTSnet), a prominent Indonesian ISP serving businesses and residential customers, needed a reliable fixed‑wireless backhaul that could withstand high‑interference conditions. To evaluate options they tested Cambium Networks’ PTP 550 point‑to‑point solution and its Dynamic Channel Selection (DCS) capability.

Cambium Networks enabled DCS in PTP 550 firmware 4.5 so the radios automatically switch to the cleanest channel; compared with firmware 4.4 (no DCS) the test showed a 17% overall throughput gain (link weighted average 1,013.7 vs 837.6), source/destination radio improvements of ~17.7% and ~16.9%, over 1.28 TB vs 800 GB of live traffic, packet loss stayed below 0.5%, and higher MCS rates (up to MCS9) were achieved — demonstrating clear, measurable performance and reliability gains from Cambium Networks’ solution.
