High-Performance Wi-Fi Improves Elder Healthcare Services

Hackensack University Medical Center needed a self‑sustaining, cost‑efficient, high‑density Wi‑Fi solution for The Villas assisted‑living facility to support residents, staff and future IoT initiatives while keeping capital and operating costs low. Faced with high concurrent device counts, video streams and limited budget, the customer selected Cambium Networks for a Wi‑Fi 6‑capable solution that could deliver wide coverage and reliable performance.

Cambium Networks’ deployment—designed and installed by Future Technologies—used 58 XV2‑2 and 4 XV3‑8 Wi‑Fi 6 APs plus 10 cnMatrix EX2052‑P switches, all managed with the cnMaestro Essentials cloud system. The Cambium Networks design provided full coverage with 64 APs versus alternatives requiring up to 100 APs (a ~35% drop), cutting hardware and installation costs by roughly one third, offering single‑pane monitoring and zero operating expense cloud management, and leaving spare units for future expansion.
