Gigabit Wireless Blasts University of Mwaro to the Fast Lane

The University of Mwaro, a rural institution with about 1,284 students and expanding e‑learning needs, faced limited on‑campus wireless coverage despite having government‑sponsored fiber internet. To extend reliable WAN distribution and campus Wi‑Fi for classrooms, dormitories and clinical training areas, the university worked with Cambium Networks, deploying solutions such as ePMP links, e600 indoor Wi‑Fi APs and cloud management via cnMaestro.

Cambium Networks designed an all‑wireless hub‑and‑spoke network using ePMP APs and subscriber modules (200 Mbps, 2–3 ms latency), 11 e600 gigabit Wi‑Fi APs (4x4 MU‑MIMO), cnMatrix EX2010‑P switches and cnMaestro for centralized management. The rollout delivered full campus Wi‑Fi—the first outside Bujumbura—supports high user density and high‑capacity applications, is managed by a single administrator with no reported issues since installation, and immediately improved access to digital resources for healthcare students and staff.
