EszakNet - Customer Case Study

EszakNet, a service provider centered in Miskolc, Hungary, needed a scalable, reliable way to deliver data, VoIP and video services across a growing customer base and difficult terrain. Their previous low‑cost wireless gear hit capacity at about 20 subscribers per Access Point and backhaul links were constrained, while many links required performance in near‑LOS and non‑LOS conditions amid heavy 5 GHz interference. To address that challenge they trialed equipment from Cambium Networks, including ePMP access points and PTP 650 backhaul modules.

Cambium Networks deployed PTP 650 point‑to‑point backhaul and ePMP point‑to‑multipoint access. In the field one PTP 650 replaced two to three competing links and delivered about 240 Mbps usable throughput in noisy nLOS conditions, while a single ePMP AP supported roughly 50 stations (versus ~20 for competitors) with 90+ Mbps reported in tests. The result was higher capacity, better interference tolerance and lower cost per subscriber; today EszakNet reports 800 customers on PTP 650 backhaul and 60 customers on ePMP access and continues to add new customers each week.
