Equine Stud Farm Enhances Security and Productivity

Kerswell Shetlands is a 50‑acre equine stud farm in rural Devon that needed reliable, high‑speed connectivity to support HD security cameras, sensor alerts for foaling, and general farm operations where trenching fiber was prohibitively expensive. Cambium Networks was chosen to deliver a fixed wireless solution using cnWave 60 GHz technology (V5000 distribution and V1000 client nodes) together with outdoor Wi‑Fi 6 access points, managed via the Cambium platform, with a single Starlink uplink feeding the wireless network.

Cambium Networks deployed a cnWave distribution node and multiple V1000 client nodes plus XV2 access points to blanket the site with gigabit‑class wireless; the farm reports steady multi‑hundred Mbps performance (examples include 289 Mbps at an XV2 AP and a 214 Mbps speed test) and dashboard throughput showing high RX capacity. The solution improved security and foaling alerts with remote monitoring, connected multiple sites and devices, and cost roughly 10% of the estimated fiber trenching — transforming Kerswell Shetlands’ operations and peace of mind.
