ePMPTM Accelerates Business Progress on the Island of Malta

Vanilla Telecom, the leading fixed wireless broadband provider in Malta, faced intense competition from 4G, cable and DSL and needed to deliver larger bandwidth packages, lower-cost services, faster installations and higher SLA levels for mostly business customers. As a long-term customer of Cambium Networks, Vanilla Telecom deployed Cambium’s ePMP platform (part of its “Kwazi Fiber” program) to meet these demands.

Cambium Networks implemented ePMP with GPS Sync, CNS management, MIR-based SLA tiers and QoS/VLAN controls, enabling frequency reuse in congested 5.4/5.8 GHz spectrum, rapid installs and improved link budget (30 dBm transmit power, 4–5 mile over-water range). The deployment delivered scalable throughput (tiered packages from 6 Mbps to 155 Mbps), better availability with lower latency and packet loss, superior upload performance versus wired alternatives, improved VoIP quality and reduced customer-service calls — providing Vanilla Telecom room for growth while keeping TCO low.
