Enhancing Connectivity for a Smarter Museum Experience

MUSE – Trento Science Museum, a 19,000 m² science center with indoor and outdoor exhibits and three satellite sites, struggled with an aging controller‑based Wi‑Fi deployment that had grown to 150+ access points, suffered performance bottlenecks, poor outdoor coverage, and fragmented SSID management. To modernize and centralize networking, MUSE worked with Gread LAB to deploy Cambium Networks technology, including XV2‑2X and XV2‑2T0 Wi‑Fi 6 access points and the cloud‑based cnMaestro™ X management platform under the Cambium ONE Network framework.

Cambium Networks’ solution replaced the legacy estate with 60 indoor XV2‑2X and 7 outdoor XV2‑2T0 APs managed via cnMaestro X, cutting the AP count to 67 units, enabling preconfigured instant deployment, unified multi‑site control across four locations, seamless roaming, and robust outdoor coverage. The rollout supports 120–150 concurrent users (500+ at peak), introduced EasyPass and Eduroam integrations, and delivered lower total cost of ownership, faster operations through cloud automation, and a future‑ready roadmap for further upgrades.
