East Indian State Government Department Links More Than 100 Subscribers at Mining Sites and Offices

The Government of Odisha’s Department of Steel and Mines needed reliable connectivity across remote, rugged mining areas to support its Integrated Mines and Mineral Management System (i3MS) and eTransit pass (eTP) verification at check gates. Low LAN penetration, dispersed check gates and the impracticality of fiber backbone made digital processes and timely verification difficult. To address this, CSM Technologies deployed Cambium Networks’ point-to-point (PTP) backhaul solutions (PTP 100/230/450/650) to provide fast, rapidly deployable wireless links.

Using Cambium Networks’ PTP portfolio and support, the solution now connects more than 100 institutional subscribers — including the Deputy Directorate of Mines, mining offices, field offices and private sites — and supports VPNs, i3MS eTP generation/verification and other enterprise applications. The network delivers high availability, long-distance links (examples include 28 km and 70 km links), improved turnaround for mineral movement, scalable expansion across Joda, Koira, Jajpur and Keonjhar, and low‑maintenance, durable operation enabled by Cambium Networks’ equipment.
