A Cambium Networks Case Study
Dunamare Education Group, which operates 24 schools in North Holland serving about 13,800 students and 1,700 staff, faced a failing campus Wi‑Fi as BYOD and high‑density student usage overloaded their original system. To restore reliable classroom and campus connectivity, Dunamare selected Cambium Networks’ Xirrus Wi‑Fi solution—deploying Xirrus access points and the Xirrus Management System to support pervasive indoor coverage and better handle student traffic patterns.
Cambium Networks implemented multi‑radio Xirrus access points (two radios in classrooms; 4–8 in large spaces) and a centralized management console that lets staff switch radios between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz as device mix changes. The rollout enabled full indoor coverage, real‑time monitoring, and easier upgrades (802.11ac via a chip change), with 65% of devices already on 5 GHz and voice‑over‑IP use cutting local calling costs by 20%. The result: more reliable BYOD support, expanded mobile teaching and administration, and cost savings from reconfigurable radios and application‑level traffic control.
